On June 04th 2004 Simon Oliphant-Hope and the Eastern Atlantic Team will attempt to smash the Around the World ‘World Speed Record’ in a helicopter routing eastbound.

The Record is currently held by an American pilot named Ron Bower who completed the trip in 24 ½ days in a Bell Jetranger on July 22nd 1994. Our objective is to complete the trip in just 19 days in our MD500E helicopter and make the record a British one.

See the ATW (Around the World) page for more info and regular updates on the trips progress.

Eastern Atlantic Helicopters supplied two helicopters in James Bonds latest adventure ‘Die Another Day’. The first helicopter was the MD Explorer which featured as a get away ship for a villain in Cuba, and the second was an MD600 NOTAR which was the escape ship for Bond and Jinx (Halle Berry) in the films amazing climatic sequence.

"I was very happy when Make up called me in" says Simon, "because they told me they had to add a few grey hairs instead of colour some out!”

Eastern Atlantic Helicopters supplied two MD Explorer helicopters in ‘Agent Cody Banks II’. The helicopters featured in the opening sequence carrying special forces agents which then abseiled out the helicopter onto the set – all this carried out low level at night and skilfully filmed by Castle Air's camera ship.

This is a fantastic sequel and was on general release in March 2004, and available now on DVD!
